Mom Writes Honest ‘Review’ Of Her Baby With Down’s Syndrome – People Absolutely Love It

After two IVF treatments, Jessica Egan and her husband were finally pregnant. However, at 11 weeks pregnant they were told that their child was going t be born with Down Syndrome. At first they were devastated and heartbroken, but then they decided to educate themselves of the condition and everything changed.

Talking to local news, Jessica recalled, “We found out when I was 11 weeks pregnant that our unborn baby had been diagnosed with Down syndrome. At first, we were devastated but it was because we didn’t have any experience with Down syndrome and it was something we were not expecting at all. We grieved very deeply for about three days and then my husband and I decided that we wanted to educate ourselves so that we could be happy and look forward to the birth of our baby.”

“Education was the biggest factor in changing our feelings about Down syndrome. We realized that we simply didn’t understand this diagnosis because we didn’t know anyone with Down syndrome. It is natural to fear things that we don’t know or understand, so we reached out to people in our community that had children with Down syndrome and we made some great connections. We began to see that this truly was nothing to be afraid of and that instead, we were lucky for being chosen to have such a special and unique daughter.” Jessica added.

A couple of months after their child was born, Jessica took to Facebook, to write a wildly viral “review” to express how she felt about her little girl. Here is what she wrote:

“When I placed my order I said, ‘Regular amount of chromosomes, please!’ That’s what everyone else got and what I wanted too. They called me shortly after my order was in production and said ‘Great news, we went ahead and upgraded you to extra chromosomes for free! You’ll receive the extra chromosomes with your completed order in 9 months.’ What?! I was mad!

All the other orders I had seen displayed via perfect Instagram posts did NOT have extra chromosomes. Well, I decided that receiving my order with extra chromosomes was better than not receiving an order at all, so I settled in to wait for this surprise upgrade to arrive. I have now had my order for two months and am writing this review to let others know the upgrade to extra chromosomes is amazing!! If offered, definitely take it! I posted some photos below of the finished product and you can see the extra chromosome is so worth it – it is extra cute, extra special, and extra-ordinary! So much extra joy. Would purchase again for sure.”

The post took Facebook by storm and melted a huge number of hearts. “The feedback has been so full of positivity, love, and acceptance that it is overwhelming. I have heard from multiple people who also recently have had a baby with Down Syndrome but are still coming to terms with it and have been in a very dark place. Hearing that my post touched them so completely and helped heal them is humbling, and truly something I will honor for the rest of my life.” Jessica said.

“When you receive a diagnosis of Down syndrome it is scary simply because it is not what you expected. It is important to let yourself grieve and then realize that this is not bad, it is just different. But all children are different, and there are no guarantees that any child you have won’t suffer from some sort of illness or differences.” She added.

Baby Who Had No Visitors In Hospital is Adopted By Nurse Who Cared For Her

A baby girl who was born prematurely and had no visitors in hospital has been adopted by a nurse who cared for her. Baby Gisele did not have the greatest start in life. She was born prematurely, at just 29 weeks, to a drug-addicted mother and father, weighing less than two pounds.

She also had health issues as a result of her mother’s drug addiction and she had no visitors for several months. Gisele was being cared for by staff at the NICU in the Franciscan Children’s Hospital in Massachusetts, USA, and that is where her life started taking a turn for the better.

Liz Smith, a nurse at the hospital, had always wanted to have children, but she suffered from infertility, and was told she was not a good candidate for IVF, so she was unable to get pregnant.

The 45 year old woman had never considered adoption or foster care before, but from the moment she met Gisele, Ms Smith instantly bonded with her and began to visit her regularly.

The state of Massachusetts gained custody of the girl when she was 3 months old in October 2016, and a few months later Ms Smith volunteered to foster her.

Speaking to CNN, Ms Smith said, “It was an emotional roller coaster. When I initially started fostering her, the goal was reunification with her birth parents. I always had that as a reality in the back of my mind while I was taking care of her, but in the moment I knew she needed and deserved every ounce of love I had to give her.”

Ms Smith officially adopted Gisele, now aged two, at a court hearing last October.

Last June, the parental rights of Gisele’s birth parents were revoked as they were deemed unfit to care for Gisele. “It was very bittersweet. I was experiencing this tremendous gain and happiness in my life where others were experiencing the opposite.” Ms Smith added.

But today I stand in respect for you, Liz because you deserve the respect from this room. A birthing day is a miracle. But adopting a child from miles away is destiny. That’s what brought you two together.

She has a feeding tube where she still gets the majority of her nutrition through, but other than that, the specialist thinks she is just remarkable. They can’t believe the strides she has made and how healthy and strong she is. Her resilience is inspiring to me and every day I’m amazed by her.”

“We talk about the power of love, but to witness how it can transform a life and to witness how it transformed her life and mine is unbelievable. I have never been happier or stronger and just I couldn’t imagine life without her.” She added.

Man Employed As Cleaner In Airplane Rises To Become Captain After 24 Years

A man who got employed 24 years ago as an aircraft cleaner at Air Azman in Nigeria has toiled and risen gradually through the ranks to now become a captain in the aviation industry.

When Mohammed Abubakar joined Azman Air Services Limited, Nigeria’s Kano based domestic airline company 24 years ago, he never imagined he would rise so much from his position, let alone to be a captain.

However, his hard work and determination has paid off as he received his fourth bar to become a captain.
Mohammed Abubakar’s success story became viral on social media after a colleague of his posted photos on twitter with a little of his back story.

On the viral post, he captioned it, “He Joined the Aviation industry 24years ago as Aircraft Cleaner. Today He is getting the Fourth Bar to becoming a CAPTAIN. Congratulations Mohammed Abubakar from all of us @AirAzman.”

After finishing his secondary school, Abubakar got a casual job as an aircraft cleaner with Kabo Air in Kaduna. He recalled, “It was during Hajj operation, and I was earning N200 per day, even though many believed that I wouldn’t do it because of the meagre money involved. I was later employed as ground staff with the airline in Maiduguri. Through my service in the company, I worked in almost all the units, except security. That helped me a lot in the aviation sector.”

With time, Abubakar got employed as a cabin crew member after a solid performance at an interview held in Kaduna, where he served Kabo Air for 8 years, earning N17,000 monthly.

He later moved to Aero Contractors, in the oil and gas section of the company as a flight attendant, where he worked with their chartered services, as the company was then not into scheduled flight services.

While there, he gave some input, which made the then Deputy Managing Director of the company to take notice of him and soon the two developed a good working relationship, and the Deputy Managing Director would seek Abubakar’s opinion on many things.

Abubakar recalled the shock he felt when he received his first salary at Aero that he tried to return it thinking there was a mix-up. “This is because my initial salary at Kabo Air was N17,000, and what I got paid in Aero was N170,000, so I couldn’t believe it,” he said.

He decided to save and invest his money heavily on bettering himself. He explained, “I joined a contribution system with my colleagues, and when it was my turn to receive the accumulated funds, there was a sizeable amount of money. So, I went to the managing director and sought his advice on my dream of training as a pilot. He was so happy, and supported me. That’s how I managed to sponsor myself for my private pilot license in Canada, which marked my take-off as an aircraft pilot.”

Abubakar said the journey to actualizing his dream has often been tough and he even considered giving up. “But I was able to weather the storm, and here we are today.” he said.

Woman Gives Birth To Grandchild Because Daughter Was Born Without Womb

A 55 year old woman has given birth to her own grandchild after her daughter was born without a womb. At just 15 years old, Tracey Smith from Lampeter found out that she was missing her reproductive organs following a scan after having not started her period. The scans showed she had been born without a womb but she did have working ovaries and fallopian tubes.

This brought her to a heartbreaking realization that she may never give birth to a child of her own. Tracey’s mom, Emma Miles, had always said she would do whatever she could to help her have a baby and 2 months ago she proved she really meant it when she gave birth to her granddaughter, Evie.

Before being declared fit and ready to safely carry the pregnancy, Emma had to shed six stone and take hormone tablets in order to prepare her body for the pregnancy.

When the time came, one of Tracey’s eggs was fertilised using IVF and placed in Emma’s womb. Against the odds, the treatment was successful at the first time of asking.

Tracey revealed that she started considering taking up her mom’s offer of being her surrogate after getting engaged to her husband Adam.

She said, “When I was diagnosed it tipped my world upside down. I was heartbroken at the idea that I wouldn’t carry my own child. I’d always known that I wanted to be a mum, even at 15.

Straight after my diagnosis, Mum made an offer to do what she could to help. I knew that she meant one day she’d carry my child for me. Over the years she mentioned it in passing but we never really made a firm plan.”

“It was only after I met Adam and we got engaged in 2016 that he broached the subject of children. I remembered Mum’s promise to me. So the next time we met up I asked her if she’d been serious about carrying our baby. I was delighted when she replied, ‘Of course I was.’ She had just been waiting for me to ask.” She added.

Initially, Tracey and Adam had considered using a surrogacy agency, but were apprehensive about the risk involved as laws in the UK dictate that surrogate mothers and their spouses, if there are any, are given parental rights from birth, so they deemed it safer to keep the baby in the family.

Tracey and Adam are currently going through the legal process of adopting their child, Evie, and Emma said she was absolutely willing to do it all again if they’d like little Evie to have a sibling.

“Despite my age I wasn’t worried about giving birth at all. All of my focus has been about doing this special thing for my daughter. Tracey is my baby and I did it all for her to be a mother. Now I’m glad to be back to work and getting back to normal. But I have offered to do it all again if they ever want a little brother or sister for Evie.” Emma said.
